Artists and photographers donate images for hurricane fund-raising efforts
In an effort to raise money for victims of the Hurricane Katrina disaster, a new online gallery of donated photography and artwork has been created under the name Art for New Orleans at http://www.artforneworleans.com.
Lara August, founder of Robot Art Gallery, San Antonio, Texas, USA, conceived the idea and is acting as the lead organizer. 22 artists are currently featured and prices vary from $4.99 to $49.00. To view and purchase photos, log on to the http://www.artforneworleans.com website. Orders will be processed and fulfilled through Shutterfly's Pro Gallery Service at http://www.Shutterfly.com. All proceeds from the sale of the artwork will benefit the American Red Cross relief efforts in New Orleans and the surrounding area. Prints are available in a variety of size and prices range from $2.99 to $49.99.
A Flower for Brenda.
Brenda LaFleur generously donated her photographs to Art for New Orleans to help raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Her home in Lake Charles LA was later hit by Hurricane Rita. She and her family are waiting to go home and start repairing the damage caused by this latest storm. Luckily the damage is not too bad considering others have lost everything.
